The Adventure Continues -

Sunday, May 14th was one of the most impactful days since being here. The Fold children and staff led worship and prayer time for church service and the team discussed the idea of friendship from the story of David and Johnathon. The time together flew by quickly after many dance parties, friendship bracelets and more dance parties. It was one of the best Sunday services I personally have ever attended.

Monday, May 15th was the day the team took the official tour of The Fold. We got to experience the kids and teachers in action during the school day, and snuck in a few mid-class hugs as well. We also saw some of the houses the children stay at during the school year, and learned about the kids’ everyday routine. After our tour, the team traveled to Kaingo game reserve and lodge and went on a night time game drive. This allowed the team to experience the incredible wildlife God has created in South Africa as well as begin their debrief on the week.

Tuesday, May 16th the team went on a morning game drive to see any animals they possibly missed last night. Afterward, the team made their way to The Fold and said their final goodbyes to the kids and staff. After many hugs, tears, and waves, the team finally made their way to the airport for their departure.

When reflecting back on our trip, it is incredible to see how God’s plan always overrules our expectations. In the end, the biggest takeaway I had was realizing how, no matter how hard we try, God will always find a way to make His way be the correct way.

On behalf of myself and the team, thank you to everyone who prayed, donated, or supported this trip or future trips. We are very blessed to have had this opportunity to love these kids with all of our hearts.
